Five months

This adorable boy is five months old today! At five months, he is laughing, grabbing and holding on to toys, and starting to fit into his six month outfits. Next thing you know he'll be asking for the car keys...mostly because they jingle when he shakes them.

Mommy Story Time

Tell me, tell me NOW! What did you see brown bear? And none of that "I don't remember" bull. It's not gonna fly, you HEAR ME?!? NOT IN MY BEDTIME STORY!

Another adorable outfit

Sometimes we worry that he might get tired of all the cute outfits, but he definitely seemed to warm up to this one!

Handle with care

William was thinking about taking a solo trip to Texas. If we packed him with enough milk, we could save the money we would have spent on airfare! But would the diaper survive 3-5 business days...?

If one finger is good...

...then three fingers will be great! William is quickly learning that more is always better.

Baby Zombie

Uh-oh. His eyes are glazed over and he's foaming at the mouth...he must be a ZOMBIE!!!! Quick, before he learns to crawl, RUN!

All that jazz!

We took William to his first concert, one of the 6pm shows at the Kennedy Center. The US Navy Band: Skipjack Quartet performed a variety of jazz. William seemed to enjoy himself, and he managed to fall asleep just towards the end!

William's favorite joke

Not sure if he's laughing at the sound Justin was making, the expression on Justin's face, or something else altogether, but whatever it was, William thought it was hilarious!

Tickle Attack

After months of repeated bombardments, William's defenses have worn thin and he's no longer able to hold in the laughter that comes from his mom's tickle attacks!

A night at the ballpark!

We took William out to his first baseball game, and while at times he seemed a little overwhelmed by all the action, he made plenty of friends and seemed to have a good time. Justin is particularly proud of the panorama shot as it was taken without being able to see the screen!

Two for one!

We all like a little distraction while we exercise. For some of us that means watching the TV at the gym. For William that means doing some reading during tummy time.

Grabbing On

William is really starting to grasp this whole grabbing thing. Now we just need to direct his energy for good (holding his toys) instead of evil (grabbing your hair)!

Turtle Power

While watching William today, Justin noted how he looks like a little turtle in his shell when he's in his carrier. Here's a shot of them shopping at Costco. Check out the twitter feed or Justin's Facebook profile to see other photos of William in his carrier from today.

Tummy time regular

Remember when tummy time was a big deal? Now, this guy does it like a pro!

William and his godmother Manasi

Manasi asked if Justin could take a couple head-shots for her, and while we were at it get a couple of her with her favorite godson!

Granted, she didn't realize she'd need a towel for the shoot...

It's always tough getting shots when your subject is easily distracted by the littlest things. Like fingers.

Given the interest in hands, this statue should have been a bigger hit.

Apparently no one told Justin that "casual" attire means something different after the age of 25. We'll keep working with him and hopefully he'll come around soon.

Our little angel!

William is just big enough where he can control his head, but still small enough to hold out at arms length. Add the right filters and he looks like an angel!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?

William is! We're just under 48 hours to kick-off for the Giants-Cowboys game, and William has already started practicing wearing his NY shoes and chewing on his fingernails!

More from the beach!

Labor Day weekend we figured was a good time to head out to the beach. Just us and about 10,000 of our closest friends!

Given all the people we still managed to find a nice spot in the sand.

William seemed more than a little skeptical about the sand.

And the water was no where near as warm as in his tub.

He also thought it was a little irresponsible of us to bring him to the beach given that he had never had any swim lessons.

He seemed to prefer being able to look down upon the beach.

We did manage to get his toes into the sand. Given the way he curls them up, he's probably still got some grains between those toes right now!

He seemed to prefer just hanging out on the blanket in the shade of our umbrella-ella-ella-a-a-a.

Good thing we got him out when we did, otherwise he never would have fit into his swimming outfit. As it is, we had to rip the collar just to fit his big head through!

Four month check-up

Took William in for his four month check-up today. He's 16lbs and
25in, both in the 75th percentile. He did very well, and even with two shots he managed to calm down pretty quickly
as you can see in the second photo. Understandably, it was a very tiring ordeal, so he took a nice long afternoon nap. Now if we could just get dad a little more sleep...

Labor Day Par-Tay!

While William knows little of the premise of labor, he had no problem celebrating it. Lots of smiles to go around!

Beach day!

Labor Day weekend seemed like the perfect time to take William on his first trip to the beach. We went to Sandy Point State Park just outside of Annapolis, MD, less than an hour from our front door. William spent a little time in the water and a lot of time hanging out with mom and dad. I guess he can take "visit a beach" off his bucket list!
