Happy Belated Father's Day!
Nothing new, but sometimes it is good to go back and remember...

Hello?
We're not sure if anyone still reads this (we have been huge slackers on the posts so far this year), but we just wanted to let all our friends and family know that we will be back in Austin for the summer! More details to come!

Winter Wonderland!
Awhile back a big storm came through covering everything in white.

Even though it was midnight when the snow came, that didn't stop Jessica from running around in it.

Everything was covered. The roads, the cars, the trees, and anything else that had been left laying around. For a day, everything slowed down. Unfortunately that day was Sunday, so no one missed any school.

White snow, pink sky...

...my, what a wonderful sight!

Here's our own modest Christmas display. Thanks to everyone who sent us Christmas wishes. We were invited to celebrate Christmas with the Thibaults (Justin's aunt and uncle), so we'll be sharing those photos soon!

Fall and more!
Welcome to the latest installment of the happenings in Boston. With law school finals and grading upon us, we haven't taken a lot of pictures lately, but here are a few we've been meaning to share.

Fall was beautiful, with lots of reds, oranges, and yes, yellows.

We walked along the Charles River to get a closer look at the foliage.

Luckily Jessica forgot to bring her wet suit. Otherwise, she would have wanted to chase after these feathered friends.

Maybe because you expect to see red, or maybe because lemonade is so delicious -- the yellow trees are really amazing.

For a better idea of the color range up close, we hired a local hand model so we could take this picture.

And if you thought it was just the trees that changed color, you were wrong. Here, even the buildings turn red in the fall.

During the fall, Justin's school had a "bring your mentors to school" day. So, of course he had his mom and Jessica come to school. We got some great photos of the visit, including the shot in front of his school in the previous post. But, due to liability issues, this is the only shot we can share from inside the classroom, because its the only one where no students are photographed. Now if Justin would just learn to teach with his eyes open...

We also went and visited Curious George. Not the monkey, the children's bookstore in Cambridge.

Also in early November we went to Ohio to visit Justin's grandparents. We got to hang out with some of his cousins who were visiting at the same time. Here, Grandma is blowing out her marshmallow while cousin David works to set his aflame.

Here, cousin Hunter enjoys trying to get her jaw into a s'more. Based on her expression, it may be a little too charred for her liking.

And here is a photo taken by Hunter.

For those of you who missed our last post, we've made it through our first year of marriage. Here we are getting ready to go out and celebrate that momentous occasion.

And here is the pumpkin cheesecake we were given on our anniversary. We may be celebrating our anniversary several weekends in a row ;-)

Finally, a little holiday lighting combined with a long exposure while manually zooming. Happy holidays everyone, and safe travels!

One Year
One year has passed since we said "I do"

And ran down the aisle

It seemed to disappear in a flash as it slowly crawled by

We traveled the world

Going to new places

Trying new things

Taking on new adventures

Seeming to live a dream

A year filled with ups...

...and downs

Where we had our head in the clouds

Yet we still had our feet on the ground

Always going forward

Even if it felt like we were going round and round

Yet it wasn't the things we saw

Or the places we went

It was you that made sure the adventure would never end

One year has passed

Looking back on it now

I don't have a single regret

And for that I thank you. I love you! Happy One Year Anniversary!

Snow Sox
They may have lost, we may be cheering for the Yankees to lose, but when we went, we had a good time!

Here we are before the game, hanging out and just taking Fenway Park in. Right over Jessica's shoulder you will see the Green Monster.

The Pesky's Pole, the well-known right field foul pole at Fenway. Its primary purpose is for people to write on. It also helps indicate if a ball is fair or foul, but that's just a secondary benefit. It's really about the graffiti.

Nothing gets people excited like free stuff, especially when it relates to baseball. Granted, they need to change the song to, "Throw me some peanuts and Cracker Jack, I don't care if I get a black eye!"

Here's an aerial view of our seats. Granted, a couple people were a little confused when they saw a guy with a telephoto lens shooting something other than the game. Looks a little creepy...

You know how we know we had a good time? Because we won! Yeah Red Sox!

The Red Sox catcher's name is Jason Varitek, also known as Tek by his true fans.

Here's the whole crew. From left to right we have Justin's uncle Steven, two family friends, Justin's aunt Brenda, Justin's mom Jackie, Justin's cousin Talula, and Justin's wife. Or Jessica, she generally goes by Jessica.

We also attended an Oktoberfest that weekend. For some reason people believe it's an excuse to wear silly things.

In case you missed it, we recently had our first snow. Followed shortly thereafter by warm sunny days. It's exciting now, but check back in February and see how we're doing then...

Most of the snow melted when it hit the ground, but this one large flake stuck around long enough to be photographed. There's always one in every group...
