William's first time in the ocean

The story of William's first time in the ocean, as told by William.

"Okay, so here we are at the beach."

"And that is the ocean right there?"

"That massive expanse of blue as far as the eye can see, where anything could be sitting just under the surface?"

"That's the ocean where you want me to go?"

"I'm not so sure about this..."

"Gigi, what if instead we just go in the sky?"

"Okay, that's way too high."

"Let's go in the ocean!"

"This isn't a trick is it? You're not gonna turn and run when the first wave comes, are you?"

"Look, here comes a wave."

"Maybe I can just lean over it instead of stepping in."

"This isn't so bad."

"Oh, wait, yes it is."

"Great, I'm done. Been in the ocean. Big check on my bucket list."

"Thanks Dad for just standing there and taking pictures while I risk my life."

"Maybe next time put down the camera and help. I am definitely returning that "#1 Dad" mug you got for Father's Day if we ever get back to DC."

Ha, ha... You told this story perfectly! Except for the last part - William knows you are the greatest dad, and is grateful that you are documenting his life! I crossed something off my bucket list, too - spending time in the ocean with my 15-month old grandson! He is so adorable.
